“The best part about working with kids and parents is that I get to see the growth and progress along the way.”
From very early in her career, Dr. Sims worked creatively to help families whether that was driving kids to and from basketball practice, helping with homework, or providing mentorship. She knew deep down that this is what she was most passionate about: going above and beyond the norm to offer people personalized assistance.
After graduating from Indiana University, Dr. Sims came to Chicago to pursue her doctoral degree. It was here that she started laying the groundwork to see her dream become a reality. During her five years of graduate school, she trained at The Family Institute at Northwestern, the Pediatric Development Center at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Rush Neurobehavioral Center, and Loyola University Medical Center. She completed a yearlong internship in Springfield, MO as part of a multidisciplinary Autism diagnostic team. She then returned to Chicago to complete a postdoctoral fellowship where she honed her specialty in pediatric consultation and neuropsychological testing of young children.
Lighthouse Pediatric Psychology is the realization of her dream to offer full-service, highly personalized assessment, diagnosis, and planning services for children and families. Her passion to serve children and walk with parents gives families exactly what they need to navigate the challenges they face.
Dr. Sims lives for Indiana University basketball. She also enjoys golf, being outside, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
